Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about retaining walls, site preparation, site clearing, bobcat work, and free quotes across Perth.

Retaining Walls

Limestone block, concrete sleeper and engineered retaining walls across Perth.

Do I need council approval for a retaining wall?
In WA, retaining walls under 500mm generally don’t need approval, but anything higher — or walls near boundaries, pools or sewer easements — usually does. We’ll let you know on the site visit and can point you to an engineer if needed.
It depends on wall type, height, length and site access. Sleeper walls are typically the most cost-effective; limestone and reinforced besser walls cost more but suit different jobs. We give clear, itemised quotes after we’ve seen the site — no ballpark guesses over the phone.
Most domestic walls take between 1 and 5 days on site once we start. Larger or engineered walls can take longer. We’ll give you a realistic timeline in the quote.
Yes — every wall we build includes proper drainage (ag pipe and blue metal) and backfill. Skipping drainage is the number one reason walls fail down the track.
Yes — we can demo and cart away the existing wall as part of the job. Just let us know on the site visit.

Site Preparation

Pad prep, cut & fill and compaction ready for slab, shed, granny flat or build.

What does site preparation actually include?
Clearing the footprint, cut & fill to level, compaction, and basic drainage prep so the slab or shed pad sits on stable ground.
Yes — that’s a big part of what we do. We level the pad, compact it properly and leave it ready for the slab crew or shed installer.
Yes. Our own tip truck means spoil goes straight off-site — no skip bins blocking your driveway and no waiting on hired-in haulage.

Site Clearing

Overgrown blocks, old yards and post-demolition cleanups across Perth.

Can you clear an overgrown block before a build?
Yes — full clear-and-haul-away including trees, scrub, old fencing and small structures, ready for site prep and slab.
Yes. Once the demo crew is done, we come in with the bobcat and tip truck, clear the rubble, level the block and leave it ready for the next stage.
Always. The job isn’t finished until the site is swept, spoil is hauled away and the block is ready to use.

Bobcat & Tip Truck Hire

Skid steer plus tip truck with an experienced operator — wet hire only.

Is this wet or dry hire?
Wet hire only — you get the bobcat, the tip truck and an experienced operator. No need to organise an operator or worry about damage.
In most cases, yes. We use a skid-steer-style bobcat that fits down standard side access. We’ll confirm on the site visit and plan the job around it.
Yes — from levelling a small pad through to full clear-and-prep jobs. Call us with what you need and we’ll let you know if we’re the right fit.
